مایکل لی آدی (Michael Lee Aday) با نام هنری مت لاف (Meat Loaf) کار خود را با تئاتر شروع و سپس به خوانندگی راک سوق پیدا کرد. به جرات می توان گفت که یکی از پر قدرت ترین صداهای راک از حنجرۀ او بیرون می آید. فضای آهنگ ها و ترانه هایش آدم را به یاد قصه های شاه و پریان می اندازد. متن ترانه هایش همواره تئاتری بودنش را ثابت می کند. این، یکی از زیباترین آهنگهای آلبوم آخرش است که حنجرۀ پرقدرت دیگری به اسم پتی روسو (Pattie Russo) او را در خواندن همراهی می کند. آهنگ انرژیکی از کار در آمده و به احتمال زیاد مثل من بعد از شنیدنش تا چند روز از فضایش نمی توانید بیرون بیایید.

فرشته ای را می بینیم با چنان چهره ای که گویی هم اینک در شرف روی برگرداندن از چیزی است که با خیرگی سرگرم تعمق در آن است. چشمانش خیره، دهانش باز، و بالهایش گشوده است. این همان تصویری است که ما از فرشتۀ تاریخ در ذهن داریم. چهره اش رو به سوی گذشته دارد. آنجا که ما زنجیره ای از رخدادها را رویت می کنیم، او فقط به فاجعه ای واحد می نگرد که بی وقفه مخروبه بر مخروبه تلنبار می کند و آن را پیش پای او می افکند. فرشته سر آن دارد که بماند، مردگان را بیدار کند، و آنچه را خرد وخراب گشته است، مرمت و یکپارچه کند؛ اما طوفانی از جانب فردوس در حال وزیدن است و با چنان خشمی بر بالهای وی می کوبد که فرشته را دیگر یارای بستن آنها نیست. این طوفان او را با نیرویی مقاومت ناپذیر به درون آینده ای می راند که پشت بدان دارد، در حالی که تلنبار ویرانه ها پیش روی او سر به فلک می کشد. این طوفان همان است که پیشرفتش می نامیم.
